36 Weeks: Baby's Lease Is Up

Okay, so the baby's lease isn't really up yet, but I'm not going to keep her security deposit if she decides to leave the womb now. Although, to be honest, I would like her to stay inside for another few weeks. I'm feeling both very much ready to not be pregnant anymore, while also distinctly not-ready for baby girl to be here. (side note: I will never be ready, I'm pretty sure most moms feel something similar to this, and this is probably why in general the baby decides when to be born.)



That's me! I know I haven't posted a lot of baby bump pictures on this blog (or in general) but I looked cute yesterday and that end of the baby's room also isn't a giant mess and I'M SO PREGNANT IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE A BABY I'M GOING TO BIRTH A WATERMELON.

Also, my fingers are swollen so no more ring wearing at all :(, my heartburn now shows up during the late afternoon instead of the evening, getting in and out of bed has become a precarious task, I can really only shave my legs as a last resort, my hips hurt always, and I have stretch marks now??? I didn't before??? They just showed up out of nowhere and I'm distressed. Just some of the fun things of late pregnancy. 

There's really not much else to post here today. I've been pretty chill, just working on getting things ready for the baby and also keeping the rest of the house in a state of general cleanliness. Confusing my friends because I'm not playing Pokemon GO (like I'm going to go outside in this heat while I'm this pregnant and walk around). But! Best of luck to everyone else who's playing, and may you catch them all, defeat all the gym leaders, and avoid server crashes.

So, this past week has mostly been pretty chill. Nothing major happened (at least not that I can currently recall) and baby girl has been continuing to do just fine - the normal circumstances of kicking/punching/parkouring inside of me are continuing. You can actually, if you're lucky and paying attention, see the movement when she gets me particularly well. As is common in the second trimester, nesting has started, spurred on by the generous donations of several friends. Mostly it just involves me wiping furniture clean and making pretty little piles of clothes and other baby things until Isaiah and I get rid of/move all of the other stuff that we'd put in the baby's room. Dancing Man

So, in the course of my daily activities, I spend about four hours of my day on The Bus commuting to and from town (for those of you not familiar with Hawaii vernacular, The Bus is the major, surprisingly efficient mass transit system that goes through most of the island. Town is Honolulu.) Now, I spend a lot of time on the bus. I see a lot of different people. But the other day, one man in particular caught my eye. He wasn't doing anything with any of the other passengers, but he was sitting off in a corner, headphones covering his head, and when he tilted his phone screen I could see that a music video was playing on his phone.
